Zackene Sheread Portis

Zackene Sheread Portis, 45, of Springfield, Ohio departed this life Tuesday, November 5, 2019. He was born March 22, 1974 in Marysville, Ohio to Cheryl Portis. Zackene was better known as "Kojack" or "Zac The Barber" by his family and friends and known for entertaining and joking. He loved cooking in which he obtained an Associates Degree by completing culinary arts school at Hocking College Hospitality and Culinary. "Kojack" later on in life achieved his certificate to become a Licensed Barber in the State of Ohio and was a Master Barber Stylist while working at Final Cut Barbershop in Springfield, where he formed a bond with his fellow barbers and clients. He leaves to cherish his memory: fianc, Rashida Walker; mother, Cheryl Portis; special stepmother, Paula Fitch; children, Zackeya Portis, Zackilah Portis and Tevin Threats; sisters, Shalyne (Williams) Lockett, Niquela Portis, Kevena Williams and Lori (Malcolm) Searcy; stepsister, Talise Sanchez; brothers, Jaryld Portis, Suluki Evans, Chris Enoch, Lee Enoch, Eric Enoch and Lawrence Beavers; aunt, Marcia Walls; uncle, Charles Portis; special cousins, Fanta Avery and Marcia Jackson; and a host of loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dorothy Portis-Walls and Bishop Lawyer Walls; special aunt Coretia Beavers; brothers, Gerwonne Portis, Kevin Beavers and Jeff Beavers. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the House of Prayer, 1403 South Yellow Springs Street, Springfield, Ohio 45506.
