Mr. Willie Woods, 70, of Cincinnati, Ohio departed this life on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. He was born on June 24, 1949 to Willie Irving and Emma Williams in Cincinnati, Ohio. Willie was the youngest boy of six children. He never went anywhere without his twin Willa Mae. Willie attended Withrow High School in Cincinnati. He worked at Children’s Hospital and University Hospital as a Research lab tech for over 18 years. Willie was known by family and friends as Peewee. He never met a stranger. Willie accepted Christ when he attended Bibleway COGIC under the leadership of Bishop Abraham Swanson. Later in life he became a member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Henry Clay Moore. Willie remained a member until his death. He was a wonderful father to five children who he loved unconditionally. There was nothing he would not do for his children. They were all spoiled. Willie enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family. Willie will forever be loved, remembered and celebrated by his five children: Ishaq Nadir (Wimpy), Shawnte Ross, Keita Woods, Brianna Woods, and Tennelle Woods; nephews, Tony Heater, Chris Woodard and David Irvin, Sr.; nieces, Wendy Halsell and Lana Jackson. He leaves to cherish his memory 10 grandchildren: Jawa, Donte, Derrick, Keila, Diara, Ayo, Timothy Jr, Asad, Zion, Jalon; and 15 great-grandchildren. Willie also leaves some of his greatest moments with his life-long friend, Aquil Muhammad. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Irving and Emma Williams; five siblings, Stanley, Thelma, Earl, Willa Mae (Twin), and Debbie; and his nephew, Adrian Heater. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Manifested Glory Ministries, 3572 Dick St, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. Interment will be held in the Vine Street Hill Cemetery. NOTE: Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Ohio Governor and our city officials have set guidelines and procedures to follow during public gatherings of funeral services. These restrictions have been arranged with the family. Please allow the family to have their private time during the services being held at 12:00 p.m. A larger gathering may be held at a future date (to be announced) at the discretion of the family.
