Vivian L. Gibson

Vivian L. Gibson, 68, of Springfield, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She was born October 12, 1948 in Springfield, Ohio a daughter of John Calvin and Thelma (Gordon) Browning. Vivian graduated from Clark State Community College with an Associates of Arts degree and worked as a Latch Key Instructor for Springfield City Schools. She enjoyed roller skating and was a wonderful seamstress. She was affectionately known as "Miss Vickie" by the children in the Latch Key Program. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kendra (Ahman) Hickman; son, Mitchell Browning; grandchildren, Olivia Browning and Omar Browning and Tenishia Davis; her mother, Thelma Browning; sisters, Debra (Browning) Carter and Thea (Browning) Dodge; special friend and cousin, Karen Browning-Roberts and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Gibson and her father, John Calvin Browning. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church (Pleasant Street entrance) in Springfield, Ohio. Services entrusted to the Jerry W. Kinley Funeral Home.
