John Howard

John Howard, 95, of Springfield, Ohio passed away August 8, 2017. He was born in Springfield, Ohio June 8, 1922 a son of Jessie and Rosa (Stephens) Howard. John attended Springfield City Schools and was employed and retired from Springfield City Schools after 40 years of service. He served as a deacon at Mount Zion MBC and Greater Grace Temple before joining St. John MBC. He was a member of the American Legions and served his country in the United States Navy before being honorably discharged. John leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Shirley Diane (James) Washington of Atlanta, Georgia, Gloria Jeanne Robinson of Springfield, Ohio; sons, John Alan Howard of Springfield, Ohio, Phillip (Mary) Howard of Columbus, Ohio; stepchildren, Rhonda and Allan Hall of Springfield, Ohio; special grandchild, Lisa Morgan and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dorothy Howard; second wife, Olivia Howard; daughter, Rose Carline Weddington; grandchild, Shelley Robinson; six sisters and five brothers.
