Lucy Mae Allen, 86, was born April 16, 1932 in Heidelberg, Mississippi to the union of Alexander and Ida (Trotter) Allen along with 12 other siblings. She moved to Cincinnati, Ohio at an early age, where she remained until she gained her wings on the morning of November 15, 2018.
In Cincinnati, Lucy started her own family. She had a love for children and would often babysit the neighborhood kids, who then became family. Lucy enjoyed card games, bingo, cooking and pressing hair. She was known for her famous fried chicken and big Sunday dinners. Lucy influenced and touched so many lives, that she was loved by many.
Lucy leaves to cherish and not mourn her memory, one sister, Lillie Bridges; one brother, Richard Allen (Tee); six children, Melvina (Calvin), Fredrick, Mary, Karen, Clifford (Pam), and Leah; sister-in-law, Betty F. Allen; ten grandchildren, Betina, Jimmy, Carin, Fred, Dawnya, Diamond, Chris, Robert, Terrell, and Lejoi; sixteen great-grandchildren, Tia, Nausiyah, Jazzmyne, Nyasia, Jr., DJ, Seannie, Nalaya, Jamiah, Natia, Nashanti, Jercari, Mi’Amor, Nevaeh, and Damauryae; two great-great-grandchildren, Aubriee and Amier; and a host of other family and friends.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, ten siblings and her loving baby daughter, Patricia (Pat Pat) Allen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in James Temple Church of God in Christ, 1116 Lincoln Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206 with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Final arrangements entrusted to the care of the Jerry W. Kinley Funeral Home.
