Courtney Allison Lay, 29, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. She was born August 20, 1988 in Dayton, Ohio. Courtney was actively attending college to pursue a degree in Behavioral Science specializing in Mental Health. A recognized student on the Dean's List, Courtney loved to read, write and inspire others. She had a huge heart and an infinite love for people. One of her last quotes states:
"Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the believers and thinkers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see greatness within you, even when you don’t see it yourself."
Courtney's dream was to complete college and open a non-profit Christian Based Rehab Center. She loved to praise the Lord and was not afraid to testify and share her love for Him. Courtney loved being a mother and made her children the center of her universe. She was an ingenious philosopher and poet with a great sense of humor. She was beautiful inside and out, overly generous and was as a shining beacon of light for many.
Courtney is preceded in death by her brother, Christian Michael; special cousin, Danny Holt and grandfather, James Behnken. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher and Aidan and special companion, Nathan Thomas; her mother, Rochelle Goins and father, David Goins. Brothers, Joshua (Erica) and Thomas; Sisters, Bethany (Morris), Hannah, Heather, and Brianna. Courtney was extremely close with her maternal grandmother, Alberta Behnken, or as Courtney would say, "whom she loved the mostest"; as well as, special cousin, Sunshine Covert, and a host of family and friends.
