Asaya Summer (Whitmore) Elliott, age 39, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 after a three-year battle with cancer. Asaya was born on February 24, 1979 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, Ohio to Rosemary Whitmore and Kevin Coleman, Sr.
She was a fun loving, nurturing woman full of life and exuberance. True to her strengths, Asaya worked as a recruiter and she delighted in quality time with her beloved circle. She fostered prolific relationships with a family of childhood friends that spanned decades. Asaya truly knew no strangers. She could make any situation fun and light-hearted. Known for her persistent smile in spite of hardships, she delighted in helping others in any way that she could. She would often cite 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Her never-ending support, wittiness and zest for life will be sorely missed by everyone.
Asaya is survived by her five beautiful daughters with Christopher Elliott, for whom she was most proud, Justis Kashé Elliott, Jaida Rayn Elliott, Juliet AanaMarie Elliott, Jrew Chrystine Elliott, and Jodeci Victoria Elliott. She also leaves behind her brothers, Arrick Whitmore and Kevin Coleman, Jr.; sisters, Akisha Whitmore, Toni Garrett and Veda Brooks; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mildred Whitmore-Walls, and paternal grandmother, Yvonne Coleman.
Family will receive loved ones for a celebration of Asaya’s life at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 27 at House of Prayer, 1403 South Yellow Springs Street, Springfield, Ohio 45506. In lieu of flowers, loved ones are encouraged to consider contributions to: The Elliott Daughter’s Fund at Security National Bank of Springfield, Ohio.
